City Fire Chief James Johnston and Elko County Emergency Manager Lee Cabanis discussed safety, achievements, planning and credentials as the departments work closely to align goals and emphasize preparedness in the new year. The city will host significant high level training opportunities in March. The department is also coordinating the availability of safety kits in urging countywide residents to assemble supplies, personal items and prepare pet items in advance of a possible emergency.
