5/27/25 Elko Live - Elko City Update

Elko City Manager Jan Baum and Elko City Financial Services Director Julie Davis were guests in advance of the regular Elko City Council meeting. The city council is prepared to accept an $85M overall budget that includes increases to state-required pension plans. The City and County of Elko are each experiencing downturns in sales and use tax collections, which is generating concern going into the following fiscal year if revenues continue to decline. The city is eying pending legislation to prop up commercial air service in Nevada in the form of AB 100.
