Elko City Parks & Recreation Director James Wiley and Parks Superintendent Joe Carr were guests to talk about a $1.4 million renovation of pickleball courts and basketball court refinishing as well as the handball court in time for National Basque festivities. The city golf course, Ruby View, will be fully open for the season and Clean Up Green Up registration is underway. The city works year-round to keep the cemetery, fields and various amenities in shape for the public.

Trail Center Interpretive Ranger Cheryl Miller talked about numerous educational opportunities from hikes to workshops and special events hosted by the center in collaboration with community groups and volunteers ranging from NDOW to NOS. California Trail Days will be held June 6-7 and will include attractions and activities suitable for all ages and interests.

Conservation Educator Julie Gabrielson highlighted the annual Elko Sportsman Expo underway at the Elko Conference Center through Saturday. NDOW is also completing big game surveys, observing raptors and licensing boats in time for the spring season.
