Elko County Commissioner Jon Karr provided an update in county news including recent agenda items and ongoing issues.

Elko City Utilities Director Jim Kerr and Water & Sewer Superintendent Andrew Storla talked about the City Water Modernization Plan in which nearly 10-thousand water meters are being installed across the city over the next 2-3 years. The pair talked about the significance of conservation and clean water supplies. Anyone with questions or concerns about the city water and sewer systems is encouraged to contact the department.

Nevada Poet Laureate Shaun Griffin is the guest of Great Basin College Humanities for a free reading on campus in the library. Griffin talked about his work inspiring Nevada prison inmates, high school students and fellow artists to explore art and creativity.

Superintendent CJ Anderson discussed the latest budget news, Flagview Intermediate transition and the significance of registration in time for the 2026-27 school year.

Dale Johnson provided an update on various city improvements underway from the Exit 298 lift station nearing completion to the construction of new basketball and handballs courts to the installation of pedestrian safety lighting.
