Christina Bradford of the VRC and Elko Veterans Corps promoted ongoing and upcoming events in November in support of the Veterans Day Parade, Veterans Corps Ball and student speaker contests as well as recognition for first responders and teachers. The Veterans Resource Center is located on campus in McMullen Hall.

Organizers of the “No Kings Rally,” in Elko planned for Saturday, October 18th appeared to talk about the significance of participating in democracy. Jan Boyer and Doug Clarke are joined by other nonpartisan supporters who are frustrated by national politics and concerned about the government shutdown. The Elko rally coincides with a national effort.

The city is poised to take back the Elko Girls Scout House for use by local non-profits, the downtown Elko RDA Sidewalk project is nearing completion, and Parks and Rec Advisory Board will give numerous updates during Thursday’s regular meeting.
