Elko County School Superintendent CJ Anderson and Human Resources Director Cody Krenka appeared to discuss the recent Board of Trustee decision to consolidate 5t grade students at Flag View Intermediate School to realize a savings of 837-thousand dollars toward an overall 11-million dollar budget shortfall.

City Manager Jan Baum discussed several grant applications that will appear before the City Council during the regular meeting. Councilman Chip Stone has filed as an incumbent while Walter Fick and Chip Stone are also filed candidates. Elko City Parks & Recreation Director James Wiley and Parks Superintendent Joe Carr were guests to talk about a $1.4 million renovation of pickleball courts and basketball court refinishing as well as the handball court in time for National Basque festivities. The city golf course, Ruby View, will be fully open for the season and Clean Up Green Up registration is underway.
