Elko County Commissioners are set to decide a School District Capital Construction rate when the governing board meets Wednesday, March 20th. Voters in 2020 and in 2021 rejected ongoing Pay as You Go funding as well as proposed bonding for school hard costs and county commissioners steered the property tax rate toward county capital needs instead. Elko County School District is asking for a 25-cent share that would generate about 2-million-dollars a year of the $15-million dollars collected annually.
