Lori
Gilbert (Local News Director)
Lori Gilbert has been the News Director for Elko Broadcasting
Company (KELK/KLKO) since 1983. She is consistently recognized
by news organizations for her outstanding contributions
to Broadcast Journalism. The Associated Press recently
recognized the KELK/KLKO News Department, under her leadership,
as The News Station of the Year. Her daily half-hour community
news program, Elko Live, has provided listeners with first-person
news accounts of local, regional and national issues and
events for nearly fifteen years.
In addition to her work in radio, she is the news director
for KENV News 10 in Elko. News 10 and Elko Broadcasting
enjoy a strong and effective partnership in bringing news,
sports and information to the community.
She is an accomplished poet and short story writer as
well. She is happily married and the mother of a wonderful
six year old daughter. |

Tim Thompson
Tim Thompson is a 20-year veteran to radio, and joined
the Waitt Radio Networks-AC Pure format in May of 2005.
He got his start in the mid 80's at KBWH an Urban station
before moving to Lite-96, KEFM as the afternoon traffic
anchor and weekend announcer. Most recently he spent 3
years KKCD, KHLP and KOMJ in Omaha. Tim has also been
working on his Bachelors degree at the University of Nebraska
at Omaha, allowing him to diverse himself into Television
working at KYNE TV. Tim enjoys camping and fishing with
his family. |

Chris Hatton
Chris is originally from Pittsburgh; he started in radio
at Classic Rocker WDVE and it's Modern Rock, sister station
WXDX. While at WDVE, he produced the radio version of
"Sportsbeat" in conjunction with Fox Sports
Pittsburgh. Chris joined Waitt Radio Networks in 1999
doing middays on the Modern Rock format. |

Christina Cooper
Christina joined the Waitt Radio Networks team and the
Modern Rock format working part time, back in April 2003.
She made a transition to the AC Pure Format as the full
time Middays talent this summer. Prior to WRN, Christina
worked with stations in her home town of Omaha, NE at
KTNP and KRQC. Before radio, she was involved in community
theatre as an actress and director and also sat on the
Board of Directors for an experimental theatre company.

Carl Mann
Carl's radio career began in the 60s and reached a goal
of working at Top 40 KOMA in Oklahoma City by 1969. In
the early 70s he moved on to Omaha for mornings and middays
at legendary KOIL, where he was also Music Director for
several years. Then it was on to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for
a lengthy stay as Program Director for KCRG, and later
for KQCR FM. That was followed by a return to Omaha as
Operations Manager for his old station KOIL, while helping
launch a sister FM station, KXKT. He retired from radio
for several years working the assignment desk in a TV
newsroom, then joined Oldies Plus in 2004. |

Kevin Conners
Kevin attended the School of Broadcasting in Phoenix Arizona
prior to working at KMLE in Phoenix. After stops in Sioux
City and Kalamazoo, Kevin arrived in Omaha in 1987 as
the Morning host of 1490 KEDS. Kevin has made the rounds
in Omaha working at WOW FM, 103.7 KOMJ and 1290 KOIL.
After managing KBWH in Blair, Nebraska, Kevin moved on
to Talk Radio at 1290 KKAR as Producer and Board Op for
Jimmie JJ Walker. Then came mornings at 101.9 KLTQ prior
to becoming News Director. Kevin joined WRN in December
of 2002. Kevin is married with two daughters and enjoys
biking and electronics. |

Cammie Carlisle
Cami Carlisle got her start in radio while attending college
in Enid, Ok. After moving back home to Omaha, NE, Cami
spent the next 10 years providing up to the minute traffic
reports to many local radio and television stations and
also held the Assistant Director of Operations title at
Metro Networks Omaha.. She also provided weekend music
coverage for KCTY-FM. In her spare time, Cami likes to
rock out with her band, "Goodbye Sunday". She
is owns her own promotion company and sets up benefit
concerts for charities in need. |

Tony Wike
Tony Wike spent a quarter-century having fun on the radio,
and he's not slowing down one iota! His career includes
morning shows in his native Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham,
and Omaha, where he spent the last 20 years at great radio
stations like KQKQ, KEFM and KGOR. Tony also served as
Director of Programming for a satellite radio network,
and has been heard on hundreds of commercials nationwide.
He's no stranger to TV either... providing voices for
animated cartoons, and most recently, narrating "Class
of '95" for Country Music Television. He's definitely
on the go, but he's never too busy to share his favorite
songs with Pure AC listeners! |
